THE BRIDGE
The watchful Lord of Glory
Scanned the horizons
Seeing the pain
Hearing the groans
As creation itself cried out
In its suffering
Compassion urging Him on,
He pulled the cloak of the night upon Himself
Compressing smaller, impermeable
Clothing Himself in fragility
A child
The Child lays quiet and strong
On the floor of a Manger
A rock
Not yet struck and broken
His Glory shrouded
Beneath the drab covering
A single light shines
Amidst the pinpricked cloak of night
Reflecting the light of the one beneath
Radiant

Jason’s poem served as the inspiration for Addison Peabody to pick up a pen and draw. Watch how his manger drawing took shape.
VERSE OF THE DAY
Malachi 3:1 (see also John 1:19-28)
“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.
QUESTION
Who was the messenger who prepared the way? Why did people need to be prepared for Jesus' coming?
What would it look like to prepare your own life for Jesus?
